Every space is a different problem.
Dose is not a matter of taste. It is a function of four things you can measure: the volume of the room, how many times an hour the air is replaced, what the surfaces do with scent once it lands, and how long people actually stay.
A tower reception and a living room can be the same floor area and need completely different equipment — one has an eight-metre ceiling, ten air changes an hour and visitors who pass through in forty seconds; the other has people sitting in it all evening. Get that wrong and you either waste oil or make the space unpleasant.
This page is the whole map. Find your space, and it tells you the device, the scent family and the one thing that usually goes wrong.

What usually goes wrong, by space
Tower receptions and building lobbies
The commonest failure in the Gulf. Ceilings of eight metres or more mean scent stratifies — it drifts up and sits where nobody is breathing. Operators respond by turning the dose up, which produces a wall of fragrance at the door and still nothing at the lift. The fix is placement at occupied height or integration into the supply air, not more oil. A correctly commissioned lobby uses less oil than a badly placed one.
Offices
People sit here for nine hours. That changes everything: a dose that reads as pleasant on arrival becomes oppressive by mid-afternoon, and your staff cannot leave. Offices get the lowest dose per cubic metre of any commercial space we specify, on a schedule that steps down after the morning. Focus family only — nothing sweet, nothing heavy.
Also worth saying plainly: in a shared workplace, some people will not want to be scented at all and have no way to opt out. We recommend scenting circulation areas, receptions and washrooms rather than the desks people are tied to.
Majlis and formal reception
Heavy textiles and deep seating absorb scent and release it slowly, so a majlis can smell stronger the next morning than the level you set. Start one setting below the table, and let it build over a few days rather than dosing for immediate effect.
Living rooms and apartments
Apartments run hard air conditioning and closed doors, so each room is its own problem. A single device in the living room will not reach the bedrooms. The economical answer is usually one Cadence One in the main space plus Minis where they are actually needed, not a larger machine.
Cars and fleet
Heat is the whole story: a parked cabin passes 70°C and ordinary diffusers leak, warp and turn the oil. For fleets there is a second issue — a scent chosen by an operations manager is inflicted on every driver for their entire shift. Keep fleet dose low and the scent neutral; Cool Mint Line and Citrus Line survive that scrutiny, oud does not.
Industrial vehicles — trucks, coaches, buses
Larger cabins, longer shifts, and usually a real odour problem to solve rather than an atmosphere to create. This is odour management first and scenting second, which means Fresh family, higher air movement, and a device rated for continuous vibration. Coaches with 30 m³ passenger cabins need a Spaces S rather than a car unit.
Restaurants and cafés
Scent competes with food, and food should win. Fresh family only, in the entrance and washrooms, never in the dining room. Anything sweet or floral near a kitchen reads as a cover-up for something.
Gyms and spas
High air-change rates and high humidity. Gyms need dose that survives the extraction; spas need the opposite. They are two different specifications despite often being in the same building.
Clinics and dental
Patients here are already anxious and some are unwell. Reduced dose, Calm or Fresh only, and never in treatment rooms — scent interferes with clinical smell cues and can trigger nausea in people who are already nauseous.
Schools — read this before you order
We will supply schools, and we will do it with conditions, because this is the one sector where our own position obliges us to be careful.
Children spend six or seven hours a day in these buildings and cannot leave. Rates of asthma and respiratory sensitivity are meaningfully higher in this group than in adults, and a child who reacts to airborne fragrance often cannot articulate why they have a headache. A brand that publishes VOC data and allergen declarations cannot then treat a classroom like a hotel lobby.
So our standard for schools is:
- Circulation and service areas only — corridors, entrance halls, changing rooms, washrooms. Not classrooms, not libraries, not anywhere children sit for hours.
- Fresh family only, at roughly half our normal commercial dose.
- Full disclosure to the school — composition and allergen sheets provided for the parent body, not just the facilities manager.
- An opt-out route — if a parent raises a sensitivity, that zone comes off. No argument, no charge.
If what a school actually needs is odour control in the changing rooms — which it usually is — say so, and we will specify for that instead. It is a smaller sale and the right one.
Not sure?
Send the floor area, the ceiling height, the sector and roughly how long people stay. You will get a specification and a price the same working day, and if a cheaper device is enough we will tell you that.
